The Daenzer Story
By Carolyn I. Furlong, CPCU, CLU, CEBS, CPIW
The fascination with the Daenzer story lies in the realization that his pioneering ideas were integral to the changes in and modernization of the insurance industry during the 20th century.
Mr. Daenzer was an early advocate of the concept of multi-line policies. His work in pollution liability was equally groundbreaking.
Probably the activities most reflective of Bernard as a true professional are his involvement and contributions to the Society of CPCU – he is member #88. He has held a number of leadership positions from chapter president to Society president. He initiated the Research Committee of CPCU. The CPCU - Loman Foundation was conceived during Mr. Daenzer’s term as president of the Society (1959) and finalized in 1961.
The book provides an insight into the evolution of the insurance industry and Mr. Daenzer’s contributions to the changes. It’s a fascinating story.
The proceeds from the sale of the book will be shared by the CPCU – Loman Foundation and the Insurance Scholarship Foundation of America – NAIW Education Foundation.
